This week, AWS launched larger, faster EBS volumes. Large, fast volumes attached to EC2 instances are something Zadara has been offering since 2012. Now that AWS is starting to catch up, is Zadara still the right choice for data at rest in AWS? Let’s check four important dimensions; size, speed, value, and features.
As Zadara Storage celebrates our 4th anniversary, I wanted to take a moment to recount our good fortune, and discuss giving back. We would not be here without our customers, and it is because of their belief and trust in us that we are a successful, rapidly growing, award-winning company.

This week in Seoul I learned a few important things.
Architecting storage solutions means being on the hunt for bottleneck after bottleneck and removing them to eliminate latency wherever possible. With the availability of storage media such as Flash and high-performance disk drives, the bottleneck has often moved away from the storage medium itself and onto the interconnect.
We’ve just announced our expansion into Germany, and specifically the availability of our Enterprise-grade Virtual Private Storage Array service (VPSA) at AWS Frankfurt. Adding new sites has become routine (AWS Frankfurt is our 32nd public Point of Presence worldwide) and I wanted to expand a bit on why this is a particularly big deal, and on the benefits this new site confers to customers requiring SAN & NAS capabilities in the cloud.
